I don't know what to do with my DD at this point.  Every meal time she will spit something out at me.  She is 20 months old, and I know she knows better.... and she'll even do it with stuff she normally likes, but just decides she doesn't want

i.e. - she LOVES eggs, and even hardboiled or deviled eggs and will usually chow down on ours if she doesn't have one.  But today? I tried to give her a couple bites of egg, and she kept spitting it out.

So I tried giving her a bite of pasta salad - which she also loves.  Yup, right back out of her mouth at me.  She doesn't even try to chew, she just puts it in and spits it out.

Then I tried a piece of hotdog bun (I waited on the bbq beef cause I KNOW she will eat just plain bread).  Nope, she closed her eyes and spit it at me

What do I do???? This is EVERY meal? And i am so tired of her being like this.  She will close her eyes so she doesn't have to look at me, and just sit there glaring at me mad

What is she mad about?? Does she get disciplined when she spits food at you?? I know my son around that age didn't want to eat a whole lot, but he was just being stubborn. He ate when he got hungry enough. But actually spitting food?? He would be in big trouble and he knows it.

it's not that she is mad - it's that she is stubborn.  She LOVES all kinds of random food (calamari, butternut squash...) but on a daily basis, she asks for "cheese and toast" and if I make her something else (b/c she is NOT going to eat grilled cheese every day for lunch) she will sulk and spit her food at me.  And oh yeah, it's actually spitting. Like tongue out making the "pffhhh" sound trying to get rid of it.  And yes, she gets disciplined.  We go to her room where we talk to her, and she gets her hand smacked (I will spank as she gets older, but I think she's a little young still right now).  We've done time out.  And eventually, she will eat what we gave her.  But at the start of almost EVERY meal - she is literally spitting her food.
