My DD will be 2 on Wednesday is starting to use silverware without tossing the food all over the place. :-)

My DD was using a fork and spoon at a year.

She hates getting her hands dirty.  We tried so hard to get her to just pick up snacks and food but she refused.

So we gave her a fork and spoon Lol

1st child was about two when we started concentrating on teaching her how to use silverware.

I think that is too late.

So we started my second child when he was 13 months old.

He is 18 months now and does rather well so long as he is supervised.
