I have a friend with a 2 yr old son who screams bloody murder everytime he poops he curles into fetal position and just screams, sometimes they have to hold his legs and push like hes giving birth or something and a dime size poop will come out.

They have tired merolax, prunes, juice, cut out milk and cheese, they were even refered to US Davis in Sacramento CA but UC davis turned them down.

Now hes had this rash around his rectom for weeks bright red and bleeds and its blisterly looking kinda. His poop has a matalic smell to real bad smell.....

WAS WONDERING IF ANYONES KID HAS HAD THIS AND IF SO WHAT IT MIGHT BE AND IF MAYBE SOME ADVICE

Nope but I would be getting him to another doctor...maybe a specialist - it sounds painful and awful...poor baby :(

he needs to see a specialist. He needs to be on a medication that will help him with his bowels. The straining could be causing hemorhoids and the poop sounds like it might be impacted.

Does he look like he has a preggo belly? If so then he may need to be "cleaned" out. Def get him to a specialist. Could be encopresis and it's not fun for kids, the earlier it's diagnosed the better chance of getting it under control.

Tell your friend to take him to the nearest childrens hospital ER and tell her to REFUSE to leave til they find out whats wrong with him. that is NOT  normal!

The nearest is 140 miles away. He had to be refered to a specialtist you cant just go see one at least not around here! My friend bugged the doctor to get him to go and see one and the doc refered him into one but the hospital denied him said they were full and no time to see him.......It just sucks for him=( i feel so bad, hes not blooted or anything just cant poop correctly and has rash that wont quit and it bleeds. The only thing i could think of is maybe he has to much iron in him and asid

First she needs to feed him alot of fruit, not fruit juice but actually pieces of fruit. Have him drink LOTS of water. Cut out foods like cheese, iron fortified cereals etc.

Did the doctors prescribe him a stool softener? If not she needs to fight them until they do.

My son used to have terrible constipation. I mean terrible. I started giving him lots of extra water and fruit which really really helped. Juice didnt work for him at all,it just made him vomit. They also prescribed him a stool softener to help.

He sounds compacted, and if that isn't dealt with in a timely manner, it could cause sepsis and possibly even death. I agree with a PP that says to take him to the ER and demand answers.

Have her try a little pinch of brown sugar in every drink but water of his, that worked like a charm on my daughter who did the same thing.

My son had something like that. The blistery looking rash is anal fissures, quite common in toddlers. We did the miralax, cut out dairy, everything you said was done. None of it helped. Eventually my son grew out of it. This stuff happens to some kids when they are afraid to poop, they hold it in as long as they can til it is too hard to push out. My suggestion for when this happens is Fleet Babylax liquid glycerin suppositories. They work great, and in minutes. It took my son about a year to stop having that problem. Try a baby enema too, that will clear out his whole tract.

This is a shot in the dark but my nieces have Celiac disease. And they can do a blood test to check to see if he's a carrier? They can get super constipated or even have bad runs. Each person is affected differently. But it would make the poop smell really really bad. And he would get a bloated belly. If the blood test comes back elevated then they do a biopsy of the intestines to confirm a diagnosis. Then he would just have to be on a special diet for his life. No gluten but he wouldn't be sick anymore.
