ANY QUESTIONS?

~We started farming after my little sister went through treatment for brain cancer and my mom started investigating our food.

I'm bored.  I realize this isn't as exciting as a swinger though.

Here's the website to the farm

Do you grow/raise organic or do you use hormones/antibiotics/store bought fertilizers?

What is the easiest crop to grow?

What is the hardest crop to grow?

Where do you live?

Is your family farm folk or is this something you came into on your own?

Do you use antibiotics for your animals? pesticides for your garden?

How many different crops? how much farmland do you have?

Are you very rural or just on outskirts of a less rural area?

~No chemicals, so yes Organic (not certified though) I use compost (that we make) and we use heirloom varieties

~Really depends on the season, tomatoes, are pretty easy (last yr there was a wilt going around made it hard).

~Carrots are hard to get to germinate

~Outside of Grand Rapids, MI

~My family started (functionally)organic farming when my little sister was diagnosed with brain cancer

~Only time we use antibiotics is if/when needed (ie a VERY bad case of mastitis) even then the milk is with held from the bulk tank

~We are farming about 40 acres right now 1 of which is produce that is mostly for family, we have 80 more thats wooded.

~Not super rural but it use to be more.  We live 5 mins outside a med. size town and 20min outside of downtown Grand Rapids (2nd biggest city in MI)

i am jealous!!! i grew up on a fish farm, and i loved it. we grew most of our own vegetable, and went fishing when we wanted. it was awesome!!! my husband and i would love to buy a house, but we cant seem to find one that has enough land. i dont think i would be into milking the cows, and making the butter, ive heard that can be hard. but i wouldnt mind doing all the other stuff!!
