Help! How to get smoke smell out?

Hi ladies,

My mom is giving me my great grandmother's hutch that now sits in my mom's dining room. It's beautiful, hand tiled on the top/back and has beautiful marble on the top. The problem is that the wood portions of the hutch retain a smoke smell from my mom's house. My mom is a VERY heavy smoker. I need to know how to get this smell out of the wood, any ideas? I have very bad allergies and am also in chemo, so being around anything with smoke is a big no no for me.

Thanks!

I'm not sure. My coats still smell like smoke and I haven't smoked in over 4 years. I even had  them dry cleaned and nothing worked. Here is a bump for you. Good luck!

Yeah, I can handle vinegar...may sound dumb but the wood wouldn't always smell like vinegar then, would it? And if so, would placing baking soda inside the hutch itself maybe help?

Thank you! I didn't think about professional cleaning...I wonder how much that would run.
