Weight loss/weight gain mess with period??

I am still technically nursing my 15 month old, but only once maybe twice a day at the most. I still haven't had a period. I have gained about 8lbs since the birth of my son, but I was a little overweight anyway. Actually I am 5' 10" and 240lbs. I am surprised that I haven't gotten my period back yet b/c it's never been "gone" this long and I've always nursed. DH and I are hoping for another baby soon and I was just wondering how sensitive your period is to weight gain/loss? I don't know that I am even ovulating b/c I don't temp and I know changes in cervical fluids aren't necessarily indicators w/o seeing a temp change as well.

hmm you may need to ask your doctor.   With some women it is when there is an extreme loss or gain that will mess with period.

When I started losing my weight fast, my periods were late but they always showed up. I would talk to a doctor but yes, your periods can be sensitive to weight loss/gain or even stress.
