I've been thinking about becoming a surrogate mother, does anyone have any advice or a good website to read?

No advice but here are some sites you could look at.  I think it's a wonderful thing if you're strong enough to do it.  I think there are a couple ways it can be done.  Sometimes women have healthy eggs but can't carry for one reason or another and they may use their egg with their husbands sperm  sometimes they may  not have healthy eggs and they may use your egg with the sperm I believe.  Don't quote me but I that's what I've heard..

I think it's a beautiful thing and have considered it myself. The one thing that has seriously stopped me was the side effects of the meds. I know a mom who can no longer get pregnant because of the hormones she had to take before carrying the child. Just wanted to put that out there as a consideration.

I've thought about it a lot. My husband says no. =(

I feel as though it needs to be a joint decision between you and your spouse, as he'll be the one holding your hand if things get rough. Holding your hair back if you have morning sickness, etc... etc...

But, good luck! It warms my heart to hear/see surrogates helping other families out while being completely selfless.

I have been and am currently a surrogate. The best place I can send you is SMO- go talk to other surrogates, don't bother reading articles!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Actually I would love it....I'm exceeeeeeeeeeeeedingly bored. We did IVF yesterday and my doctor requires 48 hours of bed rest and I'm not even halfway there yet.,,

Kudos to you, I personally kdon't think I could do it. I don't have any info just wanted to say wow to you.
Actually my sister has been a surrogate and is currently in the process of doing it again. She is getting implanted today.

I think you should become fully informed about the positive and negative side before you make any kind of decision. You already have a lot on the positive side so I won't repeat those. Some of the harder things to read are http://sonofasurrogate.tripod.com/         and  http://www.information-on-surrogacy.com/bad-surrogacy-journeys.html know your rights and what could go wrong so you can protect yourself and your family

In regards to the sonofasurrogate site...please read the whole thing. To begin with, this is not a typical surrogacy (or gestational surrogacy). Also, this child clearly has issues that have nothing to do with surrogacy.

Yes, journeys can go bad. They can go very bad, actually. Which is why I strongly suggest talking to other surrogates instead of reading websites.
