how do you place the knives (sharp ones) in the dish drainer? Point down (with the handle in the air)? or point up (with the blade in the air)? which is safest?

I dry them immediately with a dishcloth and put them away.

im asking bc nathan constantly yells at me with how i dry the knives in the rack. i put the sharpest ones in the furthest little thing for the silverware, point up. you can see the blade/point. i think its safest than putting them point down- and preserves the blade better.

if im wrong, tell me.

The blade dulls when you put them in a dishwasher.

I dry my sharp knives point down unless they are the big ones.  Those ones get laid flat on a towel out of my son's reach.

We don't have a rack to dry our dishes. We place a dish towel on the counter and place the knives on the bottom of the other hand washed dishes or we hand dry it and put it away immediately.
