Question for those who make their own dishwasher detergent

I use the recipe I've found posted that calls for borax, baking soda, kosher salt and lemon kool-aid. My problem is that when I make it, I keep it in an old plastic ice cream container and it ALWAYS seems to clump up and get hard. Is there a way to keep it from doing that? Once it clumps too much I end up with a brick of detergent I can't break apart.

Put some rice in a plastic sandwich bag and poke holes in it.  Keep it inside the container.   This will help keep the moisture out of your detergent.

yep, rice is awesome for keeping the moisture out of any powdered materials - we keep some in our salt and sugar containers as well
