ON how I can make a Wizards of Waverly place cake for my daughter. Next Sunday is her birthday and I don't really have the money for a store bought cake but would like her to have a nice Wizards cake like she wants

Can the first one be done with icing? My aunt is the one that I am going to have do the cake and she doesn't know how to use fondant

Sure, but they wouldn't have as smooth of a finish.

Most likely though, the stars and balls are made from gum paste and fondant.
