Paying for medicaid

We have to pay for SDs Medicaid insurance I'm not complaining at all. However it's 137 a month and her mom doesn't do a damn thing for her. Hubby has full legal custody and BM sees her once a month if SD is lucky and even then she doesn't take her she comes here for a visit or goes to her moms. Hubby doesn't want BM to pay for the Medicaid because he's scared BM will take SD away from him. Even though SD has no where to go because BM lives with someone that doesn't like kids there. Plus she's not working right now she's trying to move to TX soon. So I was wondering if i convince him to make BM pay for the insurance and she's not working. I know the state will try to go after her for insurance payments but what happens if she can't pay for it and refuses to get a job. Will they start the insurance and attempt to collect through court or will they make us wait til BM works to get insurance?

That's weird. When I have applied and we're above the limit we don't qualify at all.

There are different levels u also have to prove that u don't have insurance through work or that it's too expensive like u have to be in that income level and ur works insurance has to cost more then the Medicaid insurance. I hope that's understandable. It's annoying cuz SD has disabilities and we get SSI based on a 4 person house hold but cuz she's my SD they only base the Medicaid on a two people house hold.

I think if the mom doesn't care to do anything for her, she probably won't pay the $137 a month..

especially considering that she is unemployed.  You will probably have to get an order from the judge for medical, if/when she is employed by a company that offers it.
