ds is almost 20 months (wow times flies!) and obviously not in preschool. I need some educational ideas/crafts to do with him, please :)

Today we're going to do cooking.. well, mixing pudding, lol just so he has fun.

But i know my little sister/brother were doing things in preschool that were educational, i just can't remember what!!!

Thanks

what on earth? a craft commercial break in our pa bashing frenzy?! what are you thinking woman! LOL

we use large rolls of paper and tape down the paper to cover a floor like in the kitchen and then go to town with fingerpaints.

one thing my kids loved to do was a menu with pictures. Sit down with magazines, make up your menu for the week, look for pictures of the food cut out and   paste.

Make cookies together. Cut them into shapes and numbers.

Finger paint while learning about colors.

Make up stories and have him act them out.

Play music with home made instruments.

Draw pictures and have him tell you about them.

You should google free pre-school crafts. Tons of sites.

Sorting shapes and blocks

Counting cheerios or cars (my son always liked counting cars)

learning to color in lines

singing 10 little monkeys to enforce counting skills or sing ABC's together

learn sorting by letting him help you put away silverware in the proper place or by sorting colors for laundry

go outside and find different bugs then go and look them up online and see other bugs that are just as pretty.

take a leaf and put it between a piece of paper and let him color over the paper to show the leaf underneath it

take him shopping and let him help you find different groceries and what to look for (also teaching him about buying healthy yummy food)

that is all I can think of right now :)
