I'm curious..... my daughter got divorced and her ex sand bagged her with the debts.  According to the divorce he owes "her" half the debts.  Usually a divorce is written than the debts are owed to the debt holders... like banks and things.  I was told since it was written that he owes her money it is a criminal offence?  Like owing a person for a car or something.  I was told that we just need to talk to the police and they can issue a warrent and have him dexpidited here to appear in court.  Anybody know if that is true?

I don't know if an officer could help you with that...it sounds like a civil matter.

You need a lawyer not a cop.

Actually...the company that is owed the debt does not have to change the loans...so yes...if the loans are in HER name it might be written that he owes her for the debts...because the loans can not be switched to his name. Which in that case...if he is not paying..she needs to take him to civil court. The cops are not going to get involved.

Sounds like she needs to get a lawyer.
