should not wearing a seatbelt or helmet be against the law?

Do you think it should be against the law to not wear them(as is in all states but I could be wrong so feel free to correct me)? This excludes children and minors. How about motercycle helmets? Should the law impose on choice-even if it's for our good?

No. In IL we do not have the helmet law.
I think if people want to be stupid, let them.

It IS against the law to not wear your seat belt in my state..... and I think it should be for helmets too. It shouldn't be a choice... the choice is getting in the car or riding the motorcycle... after that it should be law!

I think after age 18 it should be your choice to wear a seatbelt or not. Helmet I think should be a law but seatlbelts no.

Why should  doing something that could kill you be against the law? I'm not saying people should not wear seatbelts/helmets or that it should not be against the law just wondering why .....

I disagree with seat belts and helmets being a law. I CHOOSE to buckle(of course here it's law anyway), and choose to have my DD wear a helmet. BUT- If you want to risk driving without a belt, or riding without a helmet, you should have the right to risk it.
