Zoloft and pregnancy?

I've been on Zoloft 50mg a day for 5 weeks and I'm TTC. My NP says it's the only anxiety med that can be taken while pregnant/breastfeeding, but what little research I've done online says it's kinda dangerous during pregnancy. Anybody have any experience with this? Just curious if I should stop taking it or not...

Zoloft is a category C drug whihc is

Either studies in animals have revealed adverse effects on the fetus (teratogenic or embryocidal or other) and there are no controlled studies in women, or studies in women and animals are not available. Drugs should be given only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.

Your OB see's the benefit's completely outweigh any potential risks. For you not to be on medication may actually be more harmful for you and a future baby. Make sure your very open and honest with your OB and if you see a psychiatrist. Whatever you do do not stop your Zoloft without your dr's ok due to withdrawl affects.
