My friends 13 month old grandson passed away this weekend in a town about two hours away from their home. The corner came to the hospital and pronuced him dead and signed off and let them bring the baby back home to the funeral home. I have never heard of this before. Can you imagine driving two hours with your baby that had passed away?

My interent is acting crazy..so I aplogize for two post on this same thing. Internet went out on first post and didnt show as being posted so I made another post. Sorry for the confusion.

so what they just put him in the trunk and drove home??

Or did they have a funeral home or something transport them?

I know my husbands nan died in the south and the funeral home arranged to have her body shipped back up here.

i wouldn't want to put the child in my car and transport them myself, but i would pay the funeral home or another service to do it.  it's not unheard of for deceased people to be transported elsewhere for burial.

Since they were only 2 hours from home, I can't imagine that it would be that expensive to have the funeral home transport him back.

I am sorry for their loss.  What a hard thing to deal with.
