Oh no, I have been very fortunate in my life to never have that happen. My youngest daughter however keeps an infection and has had 14 sets of tubes ( so far). The one thing that seems to help her most as far as pain is getting a towel hot in the dryer and holding it on the ear, and motrin. I hope you get better soon.

I took Tylenol. I have not had an ear ache in a long time but I can tell the signs. First the ear is sore to touch in the inner part and loss of hearing. Hope the pain killers work if not Dh will have to get on a ferry to go to a walmart! Ugh I miss living in Chicago where there's a walgreens near by.

If you hold a blowdryer about a foot away from your face and point it at your ear, it'll help take the swelling down and the pain should lessen.

It could also be wisdom teeth if you haven't had them removed. I know my ear hurts now and then from the one I have left.
