Claiming taxes

On my W-4 for work  I claimed 1 person. However at the end of the year I want to claim both myself and DS.

Should I change it to 0 then? Or can I claim both myself and DS at the end of the year while also claimimg myself right now?

My manager didn't seem to know much about this. Before I had DS I always just claimed 0 and then claimed myself at the end of the year. Should I do that again, only this time I will be claiming myself and DS?

here is a withholding calculator to help you figure out how many to claim. the more you claim, the less money taken out of your check.

you can claim them at the end of the year when you file your taxes, you will get more back that way.

The W-4 is used for withholding. you can put whatever you want on that form. 0 withholds more, the higher the number the less is taken out. So it really depends on the tax you owe. Most likely you don't need a lot of withholding so I would do a 1. This does not mean anything when it comes to taxes you can claim your son regardless of what you put on the W-4.
