my mom told me 3 days, but the recepie I'm making tells me to take it out 5 days before Thanksgiving.  It gets really hot in my apartment, the heat is on all  day thats why my mom said 3 days. I us don't know what to do, its my first time making a turkey for thanksgiving soi have no idea what i'm doing lol.  The turkey is 20.3 pounds.

you should start the thawing in a fridge not just out on the counter, not healthy... i would say 5 days in the fridge

I would take it out tomorrow afternoon. That's when we are taking ours out of the freezer and into the fridge.

It depends on the size of the turkey, but ALWAYS thaw in the fridge.
