I dont think a general dentist will even look a childs teeth because a pediatric one goes to college for an extra two years to specialize in a childs teeth but hey I could be wrong

My kids go to a pediatric one.

Matthew goes to a ped dentist b/c they specialize in his special needs. The girls go to a general dentist. We love both their dentists.

General dentist.  I took them to a pediatric dentist once they didn't interact with the kids well at all.  That was surprising.  Also, they didn't allow parents in the back area and the patient chairs sat next to each other.  There was no privacy.

Our whole family goes to the same office and it's convenient and the kids love going there.

pediatric. We actually use one who specializes in children with cleft lip & palate because of our middle DD.
