I'd keep them home just to be safe

Keep her home, one sick child = more sick children.

Nope, its right in my son's school's handbook. They cannot attend if they've had a fever, diarrhea or have vomited anytime within the last twenty four hours.

The rule at our daycare and the school district is 24 hours without vomiting, diarhea, or fever, so NO I would not send my child to school.

Not a chance.  24 hrs fever, vomit and diarrhea free is the rule for most schools and daycares.
