What is the rule for cooking poultry?

Isn't it something like 12 - 15 mins/pound? And at what temp? I have a smallish chicken I'm cooking tonight for dinner, I think it's only like 5 or 6 lbs.

  20 mins per pound @ 350   let it sit for 15 min before carving.

Chicken should be cooked to 165 degrees in the thickest part of the meat.
