I've said it to my kids but they haven't gotten the point yet.  Maybe a little duct tape....seriously my kids often have great insights, even though they're rude in how they say it.

Do you remember when your kids were babies, and you said I cannot wait till he/she can say mommy and daddy? I do and my kids are 25, 18, and 14. I wish they never learned to talk sometimes! lol

There are time when I wish I had duct tape. The things that a three year old says! lol

Here is a poem that I like. It is from a woman in the first days of the LDS (Mormon) church.

“Table Rules For Little Folks”

Eliza R Snow Smith

In silence I must take my seat,

And give God thanks, before I eat

Must for my food, in silence wait

Till I am asked to hand my plate.

I must not scold, nor whine, nor pout,

Nor move my chair or plate about.

With knife, or fork or anything,

I must not play, nor must I sing.

I must not speak a useless word

For children should be seen – not heard.

I must not say, “the bread is old” –

The meat is hot” – “the milk is cold.”

I must not cry for this, or that,

Nor murmur if my meat is fat;

My mouth with food I must not crowd,

Nor while I’m eating, speak aloud.

The table-cloth I must not spoil,

Nor with my food my fingers soil –

Must keep my seat, when I have done,

Nor round the table sport or run;

When told to rise, then I must put

My chair away, with noiseless foot,

And lift my heart to God above,

In praise for all his wondrous love.

 my 3 yr old DD told me while we were in the ER the other day, "that lady is looks creepy" poor lady was sitting right next to us and heard her say it. i felt soooo awful. of course i explained that it wasnt polite, and that people do not look creepy, just different. she apologized thankfully
