What are you charged if you are late with your rent? I have a home that we rent out and I told my DH that the late fee is to low. So I was currious how much you get charged if you are late.

Thank you ladies, I got my husband to raise the late fee to $50 if rent is not recived by the 5th of the month then $5 a day after that.

i'm not sure anymore, i think its $50 after 5 days. but i really dont know, my husband is in the navy. we have an allotment set up that comes out of his check and goes straight to the landlord on the first of every month. so our rent is never late.

I'm not exactly sure, I want to say $100, but we have lived here for 3 years so when we occasionally can't pay right away, our landlords are okay with it.

35 after the first 5 grace period days.. and 5 dollars for every day after that.. on the 14th day you get an eviction notice.

Was that $50 compounded daily or was it a flat $50?

Our landlord has so far not charged us anything... we actually pay half at the first of the month and then the other half two weeks later. He's the nicest landlord ever. lol

$20 if postmarked later than the 5th. plus $3 a day for each day past the 5th. We found out the hard way this past month as my huband drove around with the check in his car for a week forgetting to mail it. Oops!

We do not have a lease. It's month to month. We have to track our land lord down every month, lol. They vacation a lot!!!
