I've been a pharmacy tech in Arkansas at a hospital. It's a LOT of work and a lot of running around a hospital if you work in one. The state of Arkansas did not require schooling, but did require a certificate in order to do the job when I did it (may have changed since then and every state is different). I think I payed $75.00 to get licensed and then you have to renew every year.

The pay was pretty good. I think it will depend on if you have to have schooling and where you work (hospital, pharmacy, or drugstore).

My mom just graduated and has a decent job at a local pharmacy in Kmart... She loves her job, but the pay isn't the best.... here she only makes $8.50 (our cost of living isn't very high)
