I have a valid question (PA related)

If some of you consider public schooling public assistance because it is funded by the government, do you consider military families are on PA as well?

After all, our pay checks come straight from the federal government, and our health care is paid for by the federal government, and our housing is paid for by the government as well..

I'm just wondering, lol......

My dad is a civilian for the DoD. His paycheck is from the fed government. I don't consider public school to be a form of PA tho, but that's just me.

I personally do not consider either one public assistance, but I am interested in seeing what others say.

Public school being PA is just about the dumbest thing I have heard, but I don't think anyone can say military is PA, you are employed by the government completely different...

Of course not.  Military and other Federal employees work for their money, not sit on their ass with their hands out for more (not all)

You mean you missed it?

No, OP, you aren't PA for that. If you are, so am I. I receive disability compensation from the Department of Veterans Affairs every month, and they cover my healthcare as well.

That is the stupidest thing I ever heard.

But I guess by that statement I am on PA too, I am a government employee.

Furthermore, that is just stupid the equate public school and military income as PA.  Public school is available for everyone, no matter your income.  For food stamps and medical, you have to be financially able to qualify for it.

As far as military salary and housing, you are working for that money and those benefits.  That would be like saying that the President of the United States is on PA.
