Updates from the hearing

Noon -- Court is taking a break until 1:30 p.m. Judge Perry said court this afternoon will likely run until 5 p.m.

11:55 a.m. -- Eberlin is the deputy who put Casey in handcuffs. His supervisor told him to take them off.

11:50 a.m. -- George Anthony has finished testifying. The defense now calls Orange County Deputy Ryan Eberlin to the stand.

11:35 a.m. -- George and Cindy have both testified their urgency to finding Caylee. They both admitted they thought Casey may talk more if deputies forced her to talk.

Both said they did not necessarily wanted her to be arrested, but their concern was where Caylee was, not what was going on with Casey.

The defense is arguing statements Casey made to deputies should not be allowed in court, because she did not have an attorney present.

But the state said Casey and her family voluntarily talked to deputies.

11:19 a.m. -- George said finding his granddaughter, Caylee, was his "utmost priority."

11:14 a.m. -- State prosecutor Linda Drane-Burdick has begun cross-examining George Anthony.

Throughout the hearing, Casey has been writing feverishly on a legal pad.

11:05 a.m. -- George said he believed his daughter was being arrested, because she was put in handcuffs.

He is trying to recall the timeline the night deputies were at his house, when Caylee was first reported missing.

George is trying to remember how long Casey was in handcuffs, what time deputies arrived, and the conversations they had.

He said he arrived home from work to find out his granddaughter, Caylee, was missing.

10:59 a.m. -- George Anthony has been sworn in, and Jose Baez is questioning him about the night deputies came to his home.

George is having a hard time on the stand. He is very emotional, and said, "This is just a hard time."

10:57 a.m. -- Cindy is done testifying. She now has to leave courtroom as George takes the stand. She cannot listen to her husband's testimony.

10:30 a.m. -- Fifteen-minute recess. Cindy is still on the stand, and the state will continue to cross-examine her.

10:09 a.m. -- The state contends the Anthonys were willingly, freely and voluntarily giving information to law enforcement.

Prosecutors asked Cindy if, "from her vantage point," that was what she observed.

The state said deputies were there because Cindy called them, and everyone was cooperating with them, because they were all trying to find Caylee.

Cindy maintained her concerned that night was finding her granddaughter.

10:03 a.m. -- Cindy said this is difficult for her to talk about, telling the state: "I am not stupid."

She called testifying about the night deputies first entered her home "unsettling."

10 a.m. -- The state is now cross-examining Cindy Anthony.

Prosecutors asked her about reporting her car stolen and Casey stealing money from her.

The state said Cindy wanted Casey arrested. Cindy said she did not, but she did want the Sheriff's Office to help get information from Casey.

9:52 a.m. -- Cindy is discussing how deputies were treating Casey the day they were called to Anthony home.

Arguments center around statements Casey made to law enforcement officials. The defense wants them thrown out, and questioned Cindy about her daughter being put in handcuffs and being questioned by deputies.

Cindy said lead detective Yuri Melich appeared to be "intimidating" when questioning Casey.

9:47 a.m. -- Cindy Anthony is now testifying. She is talking about the day deputies showed up to the Anthonys' home after Caylee was first reported missing.

Casey broke down in tears as Cindy took the stand.

9:40 a.m. -- George and Cindy will not be allowed hear each other testify. The judge is concerned their "testimony may be colored."

Cindy will testify first, and George will be asked to leave the courtroom, then brought back.

Cindy will then be excused during George's testimony. After that, they will be allowed back into courtroom.

This is just for these two days of hearings. No procedure for the trial in May has been decided.

9:31 a.m. -- The family attorney for George and Cindy Anthony is now talking. George and Cindy are in court. This is the first time we've seen George Anthony in court in a number of months.

9:17 a.m. -- Orange County attorney is arguing all the subpoenaed corrections employees is a waste of time, and is asking Judge Belvin Perry to quash those subpoenas, so these corrections officers and medical staff can get back to work and not spend two days in court.

The defense is explaining who each person is, and why they are important to this week's hearings.

A nurse who was subpoenaed is no longer needed, since the state said last week they will not introduce Casey Anthony's reaction when her daughter's remains were found.

The defense has also released other witnesses who are employees at the Orange County Jail.
