Chapped Lips

My lips HURT. I've had a cold and been breathing through my mouth for the past 5 days. Now my lips are severely chapped and hurting. The normal stuff isn't working to help.

Is there any sort of home remedy that will help fix this? I'm still pretty sick and don't want to run out to the store. Suggestions ladies?

I have chapstick, burt's beeswax, blistex - none of those have done any good at all. Feels good going on, but within 5 minutes I'm hurting again.

Vasaline. Only thing that worked on my dd dry cracked lips. She's constantly biting them and they looked horrible till I used vasaline. When I had my cold I even put it around my nose because it was so red and hurting. It helped.

Do you have any fragrance-free, mild lotion for dry, sensitive skin? That's worked for me before. My mother used to make my brother use Crisco (yeah the shortening), not sure if that worked.

Sorry no home remedies. I love to use the Soft Lips though, that heals mine quickly and my DDs. She hates all chapsticks, so I use it on her at night and by morning hers are healed!!

No vaseline, either...

But I do have Crisco and Olive Oil.

I don't even have any Neosporin in the house at the moment. Used it all up on my little one about 2 weeks ago - for chapped lips. (lol... can't help but see the irony in that)

THIS - I have.

Do I just apply it directly? Or do I put it on a cloth first?
