Shampoo bars

I'm thinking about making the switch to shampoo bars. I'm worried about our super hard water and it leaving a funky film on my hair. Any advice? Where do you buy your bars if you use them? Do you use them on your kids hair? What about condish? Is there bar form of that also?

Help!!!

I use baking soda and ACV.

I've tried shampoo bars from rawganique.com, but they left my hair filmy.. I've heard great things about them, though! (I just happen to have very fine, limp hair.. My hair feels filmy with most shampoos and conditioners, too..)

I actually messaged the shop owner of the coconut bar and got a response that answered none of my question and was a little snarky. Too bad for him he lost a big order because I was interested in alot of his products :(

I have super course, dry, thick hair. I'm afraid of film. I would love to use them on my toddlers hair and she has the same thick, course hair but hers is long and curly. I keep might fairly short for maintence reasons :)

I tried to make the switch - I wanted to be more eco friendly and all natural...but I had to switch back. for two weeks my hair would dry with a funky coating and then congeal into weird positions and go back to them no matter how often I combed. I tried four different bars from two different companies. yuck.
