WASHINGTON - A 2-year-old boy is in critical condition after falling from the 7th floor of an apartment building in Southeast D.C. on Friday evening.

Officials say the child fell from the balcony of a building in the 800 block of Southern Avenue around 6 p.m.

The boy was transported to a local hospital by Medevac.

No word yet on what caused the fall.

what caused the fall was mom or dad not paying attention! poor kid. or babysitter, whatever. no excuse for it either way!

when i was around 12-13 i had a friend who lived in a 2 story house and on the 2nd floor one of the rail bars was broken (they were wood) and her 1 year old brother fell through when he hit the ground his diaper exploded. me and my friend seen it we were in the yard playing .he is ok tho it knocked the breath out of him because i rem. him gasping for air and he had a nasty bump on the back of his head (he fell back down) he was very lucky  and well lets say there mom did not learn her lesson because not long after he got better he almost got hit by a car ( the houses where close to the road) then i found out a like 3 years later all of her kids got takeing away .

And sometimes horrible tragedies happen and aren't anyone's fault.  That's why they are called accidents and not "on purposes."  Jesus.  Let's keep the kid in our thoughts and not start off trying to place blame.
