Friday my kids came home from school and told me this is what one (white) little boy said to another (black) little boy I found out the black boy got kicked off the bus (where the fight occured) for beating up the boy who called him the nasty name but the white boy is getting detention for using that word.

  Fair or not?

seems fair to me, they were both in the wrong, they're both being punished

Fair. Even though the white boy was wrong everday in this world someone is going to say something demeaning and bad about another person. Violence is not the way to solve it just walk away with your head help high and dont let anyone bring you down to their level.

They were both fighting?  They should both be off the bus.

see...that is not fair. Here in my province, you can get charged for calling someone the N word. The caucasian boy should have also gotten kicked off the bus as well.

yes that sounds fair. a verbal attack is not as serious as a physical one, no matter how awful the words are.

Fair. Words suck but beating someone up is worse.

So, the black boy got kicked off the bus, and the white boy is getting detention?  For fighting and use of vulgar/insulting words?  They should have both been kicked off the bus and gotten detention.  They were both acting like idiots.
