Staph infection

My daughter has a staph infection on her arm..It started out a open sore, then it looked like a pimple. then 2 days later it was huge and red and infected..took her to the doc this morning and they confirmed it.

Now they say she isn't contagious is that right? I thought all staph infections was contagious?

They told me to put the cream on they gave me on it and take some antbotis and in 2 days it should be healed up.

Is that safe for her to go back to school before its gone?

I can post a pic if anyone wants to see.

If it is open and draining AT ALL it is still contagious.

Staph bacteria are easily spread. If it is draining, it is "contagious". Do NOT send her back to school.

We all have staph on ou skin at all times. Staph is contagious, but I would be more concerned if it is MRSA.

Staph is very contagious if it's still open

I wouldn't send her back to school until it scabs over completely or even after the scab is healed.

Lol because 1. you can cause more infection to get to it and 2. it's contagious!
