As a former assistant coach, I agree. She can slip easily on the beam and stuff. If she's doing more recreational then the tights with your bare feet sticking out should be ok.

She looks so cute :) man... I miss gymnastics so much!!!

Those are leggings and they go to above her ankle. Is that okay? I have no idea, I just put her in that to keep her little legs warm.

It is recreational for now. She is 4 and I wnat to see if she is into it.

My son was in gynmastics for 5 years until he developed knee problems.  He misses it SO much, but it was just too much for him.  My son and others in his class were just asked to wear loose fitting clothes and basketball shorts.  Always barefoot.

Usually the girls wear their leos with bare legs no socks its safer that way even rec gym its good to start now then to have to break a bad habit later..also make sure her hair is pulled up and out of her eyes. I miss coaching I wanna do it again

Cute!!!  Here's my son at his dance/tumbling class.  We were going for gymnastics, but the city didn't offer a convenient/affordable class for his age group.  But he likes it, and that's what matters.  :)
