School authorities suspended a student for threatening a teacher online.

A 13-year-old seventh grader posted a disturbing message on her Facebook page last week:

"I wish Osama bin Laden had killed my teacher instead of the 3,000 people in the Twin Towers," the post read.

This did NOT happen on school grounds. The principal found the posting that she wrote in the privacy of her home, and the school suspended her.

Yes.School related,right?

If the kid had posted that he wished Bin Laden had killed his postman instead, then I'd say the school had no right suspending him.

Yes, they had every right to suspend her. You just don't say stupid crap like that nowadays and get away with it as being a "joke".

i dont really see how that's a THREAT.

Inappropriate, of course, but it's not like she said she was gonna kill the teacher...

Exactly what I was thinking...if I posted I wish our President was abducted by aliens, would that mean I should be arrested for a national threat to him? It's just as silly! It's frustration being vented, NOT a threat or plan at all!

i think the school is over stepping its bounds here. Its the parents job to discipline a child at home.
