I HAVE A QUESTION FOR FIREFIGHTERS!!!

If you aren't a firefighter or married to one to ask please bump for me!

A friend of mine died in a fire early this morning :(   The article in the news says this :  "The victim was found against a bedroom wall. They were able to determine he was deceased, and per protocol, he was left in that location."

Anyone able to tell me why it's protocol to leave a body in the location where it's found?

Because if the fire was arson, the body needs to stay in the place it was for the coroner and investigators, same protocol for a murder.

Because it is a crime scene until they determine otherwise. Sorry for your loss, Hon.. ((hugs))

At that point they already knew the fire wasn't arson. That's why I was wondering. They had already been told that the fire started on the living room sofa.
