My son has the flu. I'm not one to jump to meds but he is so miserable. His temp is 102 and everything hurts.
All I have is infants ibuprofen. The dosage stops at 23 months and 23 lbs. He will be 4 next month and weighs 35 lbs. How much do I give him? We have been on hold with the nurse line for 30 minutes now :(

Switch to motrin. When ever I do this when DS is sick he immediately breaks the fever and gets better. You can also combine it with tylenol with no risk of an overdose.

Aww poor guy! Our 3 year old has something too. We arent sure if its the flu or not yet. Shes had a high fever, tummy ache and some diarrhea yesterday. Shes 3.5 and we gave her a teaspoon of ibuprofine. That was what it said to on the lable of the bottle. She weighs 35 pounds too.

We also had a fair planned for tomorrow, now its just me at home with the kids while DH finds us a new fridge.

I hope he feels better soon!

So sorry!  Hope he feels better soon.  If you get Tylenol and Motrin (for next fever, or some how get them both for this one) try alternating them ever two hours.  (A nurse recommended it to me once).  Tylenol, the two hours later, ibuprofen, two hours later Tylenol and back and forth.
