a question for you christians

When you tell a non believer they are going to hell what kind of reaction do you honestly expect?

The person to run screaming for the nearest church?

For them to fall to their knees in subjucation to your christ?

What?

My reaction is always a giggle in your face and walking away shaking my head.

I also like to know why *some* Christians use "I'll pray for you" as an insult.

Then *some* say, "I feel sorry for you" or "you can't be happy without Christ".

I don't tell them they are going to hell or anywhere. It isn't my place to decide for them. I respect them for their choices I don't ridicule them for them. Everyone has a right to believe what they want.

I'm Christian.

I don't tell people they're going to hell.

I think that's counter productive.

AND no one could possibly know that.

I've never told anyone they are going to hell for not believing so here is a bump.

The "I will pray for you and your kids" also makes me giggle. I dont get why they would waste prayers on a family who doesnt believe in their god to begin with.

I thought the same thing...when I was still a Christian. I never used that tactic. My thing was if you believe, fine by me....if you don't, fine by me. You know where I am if you WANT to go to church, I don't have to shove it in your face.

That was one of the tactics a "friend" of mine would use. She would tell people they needed to come to church so we could cast the demons out of them. The looks on their faces were priceless.

lol.  I've heard that before too.  It's like they're saying, "You're wrong, I'll pray you see it my way." or something like that.  Certainly with comments like that, they're not showing their joy in the grace of Christ. But then, no one is perfect.  Being Christian doesn't mean you're perfect, just forgiven. :) It's not a free pass to be judgmental of others.

I am a christian, and i do not ever tell anyone that.
We were taught to respect others beliefs and if they asked our opinions on subjects, we would give them.
God is the only one who knows what is to come. He is the author of our future, its your choice to believe or to not believe.
