New Couch Tax

My 15yo DS came up with this.

He says that there should be a couch tax for lazy people that don't work unless they have a legitimate disability. They should also be denied PA benefits.

His logic says that if there is a couch tax and people had to pay to stay at home and be lazy, then maybe they would get a job...since lazy people want things for free.

PA benefits?  Is this welfare?

Yes, it is. It is an abbreviation for public assistance.

Bad idea... everyone who is looking for work and just needs a little help would be SOL too.

But I do think college students should be able to recieve assistance.

Looking for work and being "between jobs" for a year at a time are 2 different things though.

There is more to it that he has explained, but that would be a very long post.

Advice: make a very long post before you end up with egg on your face.

They are two different things but it'd be hard to enforce.

I'd be in trouble! I haven't had a job since my son was 6months old. My hubby is the bread winner in this family but i am now looking for something part time to do during the day.

Edited...Well i take that back i have for the last 3 years worked for elderly ladies at our church. Cleaning, laundry, cooking, making sure they take their meds, taking them on errands and i got paid cash for that every week not a paycheck though!

Eh...screw it. In this group, it doesn't matter what you say anyway.

Yes. Like I said though, it was just an idea from my 15yo. It is flawed, but I thought it was a little insightful for someone his age.

ANNNDDD....I was bored waiting until 6pm to roll around to see if we were going to be vaporized or not. It is 6:03 now...LOL.
