What was your wedding reception like?

I had frog decor all over my wedding reception.  I even had little frogs decorating my wedding cake!  I had Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head wedding toppers though. I had a clown at my wedding reception, a rainbow of colorful plates and napking, and jello jigglers of all colors (along with sandwiches etc) The clown deocorated the walls of the reception area with balloon flowers too.  I even had a frog slipper that I used as the ring beares pillow during the wedding.  AND I wore my froggy pajama pants under my wedding dress.  They're purple with cute little green frogs and flowers all over.  :)http://ny-image2.etsy.com/il_170x135.196506690.jpg

We didn't follow a theme.  I remember it was hot on our wedding day. September 27th 1986.  The airconditioning broke in the hall Friday night. Saturday for our wedding.  The management tell us they chose not to fix it. Because it costs more on the weekend for the repair person.  Well my big fat sil Debbi and her big fat mouth griped big time about.  Says she does hair for a living.  If someone don't like how she did it.  They can come back get it redone or sue her.   She kept it up. Got us a free half barrel of beer.   We had at least 200 people at our wedding.

Ours was your typical foods and decorated in pink florals....biker bear figurines that the guests could take home.

On the down side....I totally ruined a pyramid of crystal glasses stacked up. They went everywhere and thankfully none busted, but I ruined all the hard work the caterers put into it. Then on top of everything DH and I didn't eat any of the food. We decided we wanted a more intimate supper and so we had planned to leave the reception after everyone and go to a little restaurant we liked. We ate the normal stuff like our wedding cake, his groom cake, and did the punch. We just waited on the finger foods. So all my family ate the food and the next day a few ended up in the ER. Stupid caterers gave them food poisoning and a few threatened they were going to take back their gifts..lmbo..they were joking. They said ours was the most memorable wedding they have ever attended.
