The Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT)

What can you tell me about it? I don't know a lot really and have googled etc and came up with basically a non-verbal IQ test. This is how my son's school determines where they get to be placed for 1st grade and he scored "above average" on everything and then in the 95%tile for his age. Is this good? Bad? Average? Is it even accurate? TIA for any help because I am really confused because some of the kids that are in his class that are in lower reading and math groups during the day are scoring high from what the other parents are saying. I guess I am not getting how this helps them determine where kids should be placed in school for the next 4 years if it doesn't measure verbal abillity at all. But then again, maybe I am not understanding at all! :)

Yeah, I googled and all it basically states is that it is a nonverbal test that can be used to determine IQ in children who don't know or aren't good with language.
