Breast feeding and formula feeding---is the bond equal?

Do you believe the bond between mother and child  is equal with formual feeding and breastfeeding?

Obviously, I am not talking about the bond between the mother and child as a whole, but the feeding time only.

The bonding process is the same no matter if the child is breast fed or formula fed

I believe it depends more on the mother and child, not how they are fed:)

i can only speak for myself...

i could NOT bond with ds while i was breastfeeding, at all. i was stressed about it, he wasn't latching, i got frustrated and extremely emotional. i resented him, i resented my husband (well, then he was my boyfriend) and i had terrible post partum depression on top of that.

when i switched to forumla feeding i ENJOYED that time with my son. it was relaxing for me to give him his bottle and rock him and sing to him, nothing like it had been before. i looked forward to feeings.

I didn't see a difference in the bonding between BF and FF.  I have done both with my kids.

Yes, the bonding is equal. I BF'd my oldest and FF'd my two younger sons, I bonded equally with all three.
