How am I supposed to package these things? Seriously.

I made peamut butter blossoms... and banana bread... his favorites...

Now how do I get them to him without then going bad? Especially the chocolate.

It's a Father's Day present from the kids.

eep chocolate never does well, especially during summer in Iraq.  You could try to vaccum-seal them, that might work.

I wrap everything in saran wrap then aluminum foil & freeze it before I send it.

I've never had anything spoil.

However, w/chocolate a few times I would put some some disposable ice packs in the box as well.  But put those in a plastic baggy so it doesn't get the box all wet when it thaws.

There really isn't much you can do about the chocolate.  For the baked goods, I always put them in an airtight container with a slice of bread.  It keeps the cookies moist during the delivery.  Once a box took a month to get to my DH and he said the cookies tasted like they were just made.  Not sure about the banana bread.  I tried sending that once and it didn't stay fresh  :(

Chocolate doesn't do well in the summer months:(
For cookies etc I get a ziploc container and layer the cookies with wax or parchment paper. Then I make sure all the air is out. I used bubble wrap inside the pkg to keep it from getting knocked around during shipping.

I hope everything ships well!!

Thanks ladies... I made some plain peanut butter cookies to send in case the chocolate does go everywhere.

I don't know what to tell you. When my husband was deployed his mom tried sending him banana bread and it was moldy by the time it reached him.
