local channels only?

does anyone know if its still possible to just get local channels on tv with like an attena? df's grandmother is driving me up a damn wall asking over and over if its still possible to get local channels during the day when we dont have cable. not in any form looking to "steal" just want a yes or no. its the same with my radio. i keep hearing over and over "well whats wrong with this area?" when we say there is no reception. o and we have pulled up cnn and fox online for her but she wants the tv

you have to have a converter box now thanks to our lovely government.

Yes! That's all we have, the converter is built into our t.v. We do not have cable.

i have a flat screen. hook a cable wire and take the eraser out the pencil and stick it on the wire. voila free channels. i get about 20. only works with digital tvs though. you gotta scan for channels when u do it.

It depends on if you have an older TV.If you do you need a converter box plus the antenna.

No more rabbit ears, they don't work. You have to have a converter box if you don't have cable or satellite.

Yes, we do have an antenna as well (on roof) We get quite a few channels :)
