EPIDURALS...I ONLY SEE ONE GOOD REASON FOR ONE

The only good reason a woman should have one is if that is what she wants.

Thoughts?

Agree! I had one and it allowed me to enjoy the experience, not barf all day from the pain. Wouldn't change it.

I don't care what other women want during birth.

I'm expecting my 1st baby, and I'm still trying to decide if I want an epidural or not. I have an EXTREMELY high pain tolerance..but I'm still worried maybe I can't handle the pain of childbirth? Idk. But, I've heard epidural horror stories so now I'm all worried about getting one.

I agree. It's your choice. I had one with my DS; however, with this pregnancy I will not get another one.

I don't really care if someone does or doesn't. There's much worse things out there to be concerned about. I wanted to try an all natural, non-medicated birth, but I had an emergency induction and had to get an epidural.

If a woman wants to have one that's her choice but I think it should be an informed decision because it increases risks to another individual. I do not think a 2 min Q&A with your OB is researching.
