Wtf?! Identity Theft?

That's the only think I can possibly think of.

In our old apartment, we had Cox and then Clear as our internet provider. After we moved here, we switched to Century Link.
I just got a bill from a collection agency saying I owe Century Link $592.12, and our old apartment was the address. Wtf?!
We have Century Link now. It's paid up to date and still on and everything. You'd think if it was my account, they'd turn this address off, right? What else is wierd, is that when i log onto Century Link online, I don't see the "overdue account". I've never heard anything about it until I got this almost $600 collection bill.

The only thing I can think of is maybe they made a mistake, or identity theft. I tried calling both places but it's Sunday and they're closed.

I'm fuming right now. I don't really know what I'm asking... maybe just venting. Anyone experience something like this?

Did you tell them to turn is off at the old address?  If not maybe someone else is using it.

Edit: Sorry re read your post and saw it was after you moved.  That is weird.  You should call and find out what is going on.  I don't think the collect agency would know everything, call the company first.
