do you get shots yourself? let's say you step on a big rusty nail...do you go get a tetanus shot?

is it the same thing? truly curious here!

The shot you would get if you are injured and worried about tetanus is not the same as the Tdap or DTaP.  It is a Tetanus Immune Globulin shot, and is used after an injury rather than in case of an injury.  That is one we would be okay with us or our kids getting.

But no, I do not in general get vaccines.  For example, I know I am no longer immune to Reubella.  They offered me the vaccine after my last pregnancy, and I declined.  I will decline it again when offered, even though I am pregnant again.

lol tetanus dosent come from rust. It comes for bacteria in dirt. If there is a nail thats in that dirt then  it could be contaminated by tetanus yes BUT if you step on a nail then you'd go to the doctor and they'd give you a pure tetanus vaccine that last 10 yrs. Its not really the same thing persay....They recomend less immunizations for an adult then a child
