My dd wants to take dance lessons and play basket ball this year. My dh thinks that I should ask ex (dd's dad) to pay half. I feel awkward about asking him to pay for anything. (he pays child support every month, always has. he is a great dad.) My question is would you ask for you child's father to pay half of all extracurricular activities. What would you do?

Yes, it is his child too.

I'd speak to him about it and see if he offers.  Otherwise, if he's a good father and pays child support... I'd let it slide.

I wouldn't, but though he pays support, he is not a part of her life.

The child support he already pays you should go towards that.

Yes, childsupport is a set amount. It doesn't cover what a child actually costs. If he is a great dad as you say, he probably wont mind.

I wouldn't but if you do I don't think it would be terrible. I think child support covers that but that is a grey area.
