Ok if you was living on a limited food budget of $50.00 and had to feed a family of 4  2 adults, 1 teen and 1 toddler What are the few items you buy to make it through the month How would you stretch your food? What would you do?

I seen this question on another site wanted to know what you ladies thought :)

Pasta, dry beans, a large bag of potatoes, whole chicken, frozen veggies, ground beef,

Pasta goes with anything.   Potatoes can be used for a casserole, on their own and in soups.   Whole chicken, boil it before searing to make a broth for a good soup.   Shred chicken to use in multiple dishes, soup, pasta, salad, sandwhiches.   Frozen veggies can be added to pasta to make a meal, or to broth to make a soup.  Ground beef can be added to a soup, make shepherd's pie, meat sauce.   Beans can be eaten alone, make chili, make soup, make a side dish.

i have done it by making big pots of food that can be frozed and cooked for later use, and i make my own tea and keep the junk food out of it. i couldn't tell you the last time i had any chips or chocolate. i make chili and freeze it, ham and beans, chicken soup, chicken and dumplings, tacos that way it can be taken out and thawed to eat
