What's wrong with the fridge?

My fridge started making what looked like ice on the lid of my butter which was in the back so I put a bowl back there it's caught a little water which is also chunks of ice. Nothing else is freezing in the fridge and I turned the fridge up so it wasn't so cold. Any ideas? Could this be wasting extra electric? Should I call housing tomorrow?

Is it leaking water? sounds like you need to de-ice the freezer

My parents fridge does that. They just keep the bowl back there. I think it is normal?

Mine is doing the same darn thing. It's leaking from the freezer. My landlord doesn't even wanna mess with it, he's just gonna buy a new one, lucky me :0)

The back of the fridge is the coldest part of the fridge, try moving the container to the door, or closer to the front of the shelf. Keep your fridge set on the middle setting,

Also another good tip to know: Turning your fridge up too a higher setting and trying to get it "colder" because you have filled it with warm food (room temp or warm sodas or beer) will cause your fridge to go into "defrost" mode.

My hubby is a maintenance tech. for a real estate rental company and he gets this "delima" every week, so that's how I know this lesson so well.
