Franklin also said Beagley made the boy to stand naked in a cold shower for getting in trouble.

Beagley is charged with misdemeanor child abuse.

Her lawyer says she was not being cruel when punishing her son, but instead was desperate to address difficult behavior.

is there more to this story??...while I don't agree with it...from the stuff that is posted on here there are alot of "child abusers" in our midst. I did not know hot sauce and a cold shower were considered abuse. again..not punishments I use, I was just unaware that that was considered abuse (legally)

...I should have called CPS when my dad would use all our hot water and make me have ice cold showers in the morning before school. >.< I knew it. Definitely not methods *I* would employ, but I can't say they're definitively child abuse. I definitely don't think she should have her kiddo removed or be incarcerated for any time. Maybe should could take parenting classes and learn new ways of discipline to try out? Or a family counsellor? Those would be much more beneficial, I think.

You know if your gonna call CPS on someone you better damn well make sure its truly worth it. If a child is being literally abused beign beat the crap out of, or not taken care of due to ignorance but a crackhead mamma or the child is being starved to death then i can see calling CPS. For stupid things such as a swat on the big or a smack or even in this case so hot sauce and a cold shower, give me a break. People dont get how hard it is to get children back and now much the system is fked up. Some of these kids who get sent to foster care are sexual abused, starved and neglected.

I know a woman who adopted a little girl age 2 cause her mom was using her in porn movies!!! ya now thats certainly a case for cps. A child who is wondering around dirty whilte her crack head mother is off being a whore and doing drugs yes another CPS case. So on and so forth....But a mother disciplining their child then someone just not liking it cause THEY DONT do it and calling CPS....not cool man.

When my brother and I got too old to spank...we got hot sauce as punishment...I don't feel abused by any of the means my parents used to punish us.

We were never beaten or abused...yes, we got spanked, grounded, soap in the mouth, hot sauce, had all of our toys taken out of our room (I think that did the least in adjusting our behavior)...

Actually - if you call an allegation of abuse and/or neglect into cps - the hotline call will determine if the allegation is accepted.

If it is does nto rise to the level of warranting  further investigation, the allegation will not be accepted.

If a person is concerned, CPS also has a role in determining if it is "truly worth" investigating the allegation.

She doesn't win the Mom of the Year Award, that's for sure. But there's bigger fish to fry when it comes to child abuse.
